I am currently a student at Utah State University in the Outdoor Product Design and Development Program. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland before moving to Richmond, Virginia and working as a Cabinetmaker and several other jobs trying to find what really drove me. I returned to Baltimore to obtain a degree in AutoCAD and worked as a CADD Technician for an engineering company specilizing in MEP for hospitals and higher education. I found the OPDD program at USU and thought the combination of making things and my love for nature would be the perfect combination. I obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009 and love to hike and hang with my cat Willy.

Designers Statement

While I was growing up you could always find me either in my fathers’ workshop or the outdoors. I have always had an affinity for working with my hands but never had confidence until I spent two years building cabinets in Virginia. From there I went to school to learn computer aided design and worked as a technician for an engineering company. I felt I wanted to have more of a say in the direction projects were going while also being creative. I thought the marriage of the outdoors and creating things in the outdoor product design was perfect for me. I am particularly interested in creating sleek and modern feeling products mirroring some of my favorite furniture designers and architects. I am a true believer that form follows function but can also contain beauty. I love being a part of a team and solving problems by working it out. I spend my weekends hiking, riding my bike, taking pictures and hanging with cat, Willy.
